Where does qaf get its information?

Qaf draws from a growing collection of trusted Islamic books and references spanning classical and contemporary scholarship. At its core is the Shamela corpus — one of the largest and most trusted libraries of Islamic knowledge, with around 8,500 books and 7.5 million pages from more than 3,100 authors. The texts are provided in partnership with Turath.io. This collection keeps growing, and we are continuously working on adding more books and references to qaf.

Can I see the sources behind an answer?

Yes. Qaf provides references and citations so you can verify information and continue your reading at the source. When an answer cites a text, you can open the citation to see the book, the author, and the exact passage it came from. From there you can keep reading the full text, request a translation of the cited passage, or copy and share the citation. If an answer doesn't carry a citation, treat it the way you would any other AI-generated text — as a starting point for your own research rather than a final word.

Does Qaf provide religious rulings (fatwas)?

Qaf can help explain existing scholarly opinions and references, but it does not replace qualified scholars. Qaf is a research tool. It can show you what scholars have written on a topic, present the relevant sources, and help you understand the range of opinions — but it does not issue rulings of its own. For a fatwa, especially one that depends on your personal circumstances, please consult a qualified scholar you trust.

Which languages does qaf support?

Qaf is available in 14 languages: Arabic, Bengali, English, Spanish, Farsi, French, Hausa, Hindi, Malay, Pashto, Russian, Somali, Turkish, and Urdu. You can ask questions and receive answers in any of these languages, and switch your app language at any time. Many of the underlying sources are in Arabic. When an answer cites an Arabic text, you can request a translation of the cited passage so you can read it in your own language.
